Hello, I also need a device similar to the Lucchi meter for an experimental project, and I was very pleased to see your work. However, I have an issue with the receiving sensors. What is the operating frequency of the piezoelectrics? Is the frequency the same 40kHz as shown in the schematic? Could you share more detailed electronic information? I want to use this project entirely from scratch with STM, and I need more precise information to ensure fewer errors at the start.

Hey, sorry for the late answer. Yes the used piezos are 40khz. It was really difficult to find affordable Sensors on Mouser/Digikey so I ended up sourcing them from AliExpress. When I was experimenting with them I encountered a signifikant amount of ringing so it was not possible for me to implement Pulse Echo measurements with a single pizeo. Also a big learning for me was to put the preamplifier as close as possible to the piezo as it probably reduced parasitic capacitance of the wire. If you have more specific questions feel free to reach out.

Hello

Thank you very much for your response.

I couldn’t find a 40 kHz piezo in the market, so I think I should use a 38 kHz cold mist device instead. However, I found some high-frequency piezos in the MHz range, but there isn’t detailed technical information available. Ordering from outside Iran is also a bit difficult for me. Additionally, op-amps and other components are not available in our current market, so I need to use suitable alternatives from the available op-amps. Another issue is the MCP1652, which seems to be used for driving the piezo. Can I use a MOSFET transistor with higher voltage for switching the higher voltage piezo instead?

Once again, thank you for the time you took to respond.
