If I want to integrate, I create a wrapper that does these two steps as one step behind a simple interface. However, reasonable frameworks will already do that for me...

It may well end up to not need to specify anything, it may need some minor clarification in the spec, it may need more. JSON Binding is not alone, we should look into how well it plays with other specs as well.
