probably part of #1 , but man is it a big ol blob

somewhat done, but the individual code pieces are still all in one method and there is a lot of reuse for our purposes of things that probably shouldn't be reused (materials and friends)

More work done in #13 to make line settings more normalized. Still haven't tackled the big code at the heart of this.

Based on my feelings right now and that there is another LoS mod that covers the same territory with a different tactic, I am not going to od this work
