I have the following features implemented in this pull request. These are all standard Emacs behaviors.

Kill buffer C-x k
Pipe command preview as M-| and execute pipe command as C-u M-|
When C-x C-f, if File is already open, don't open it twice, just switch to that buffer
When C-x C-f, if file does not exist, message should read "New file"
Mark the entire buffer C-x h
Scratch buffer

Thanks for your patience. I'll be taking a look at this tomorrow (in 1d6+7 hours). Clang-format is now in place so we have some merge conflicts here - feel free to just force through how the files are now, then clang-format them with make format.
