HTTPS API calls #5

Any reason not to call the API over HTTPS? Happy to test and PR, but just wondering if there's a reason the library doesn't use HTTPS already. (The HTTPS URL for the API isn't mentioned in the docs, but manual testing from a browser, at least, works just fine.)

Sounds good to me. The HTTP URL is probably an historical artifact.
