I'm configuring on a KDE system, with Kwin and OpenGL 3.1 as the compositor. When setting #request setxwintype "desktop", the background goes black and I lose all my desktop icons and latte-dock. I've tried setopacity "native" and setopacity "xroot" (though that throws an error).
I've also tried alternative setxwintype's, having the best luck with "splash", which displays properly but disappears on focus loss, and "!-", which works fine except it's overlayed on top of all windows.
Starting with --desktop works fine for one monitor, but I'm attempting to stretch it across 3. I know Kwin doesn't play nice based on past issues, but is there anything I can do to fix this?
