I don't think it's a good idea with a free-of-charge savegame (more like: load)
option.

Even at a standard fee (see the old Amiga game Ishar where each and every save
cost 1000 gp-- no money, no save!) it is a no-brainer to deduce a winning
strategy, leading to a point where
a) money is worthless
b) those not wishing to gamble will have hard time to get the most meager
commodities.

A possible way for gamble could be something similar to Diablo II -- say, if
you need a good amulet, you can buy one for a big price, and if it's good
enough you keep it. Otherwise, you can sell it, typically for a fragment of the
buy price.

E.g. in D2 all rings cost 48k gold in gamble. If you get a run-off-the-mill
magic ring, you can sell it for about 2k gold. If you get an exceptional one,
that may sell for as much as 10k, but the absolute maximum is 35k. So you don't
ever gamble for money; more like for something useful.

Thank you surrano for a good idea. Gambling like in D2 might be something worth
expanding on. But considering you can save and reload if your gamble fails,
maybe this will just be another money making machine.

Regarding other mini games: maybe. At the moment, other things like finishing
the maps and implementing skills and/or spells is higher on my priority list.

Thanks for the report and the ideas though.

In D2, it is nonsense to gamble for money. This was my main point.

Maybe some kind of auto save after the purchase of the gamble item so they
couldn't just reload. I mean you could still move your savegame and restore it
that way but that's alot more work and above alot of peoples thought procedure.
Prob would be to hard to impliment an autosave feature on gamble purchases as I
believe oskar said something about the game being saved and restored just to
open your inventory.

Autosave to which slot? remember that there are 4 save slots + autosave (if I'm
not mistaken)
