Wallpaper freezes on Droid #6

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the wallpaper

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It works for a little while and then freezes. Freeze could happen in under an
hour or could
take days.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Motorila Droid running Android 2.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using the realtime clouds setting with hourly updates.
I've already tried the following, without success:
- Change update time
- Run in foreground (or background)
- Cache maps on sd card

The release notes ask for logcats, but I don't know how to do that. I haven't
rooted my
phone. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd love to help.

can you test the SLWP-dev.apk (release 47), it should fix the freeze issues on
the
droid.

Done. I'll let you know if I experience any problems.

I'm confused because the last stable version on this site was updated in March,
but the
version in the Marketplace has been updated a lot more recently than that.
What's the deal
with that?

I think it's a little soon to mark this issue as "fixed." Usually in bug
fixing sites like
Launchpad or Bugzilla, issues are left open until it's certain that the issue
is really fixed.
This makes it easier for people to keep talking about it.

Also, what about the version in the marketplace? When is it going to be
updated to the dev
version?

I haven't had any freezes with the new version, but I did have it die
unexpectedly after I
turned on free rotation. Should I start a new issue for that? I'm not sure I
can reproduce
it.

I still don't know how to collect logcats, if someone would tell me how I'd
like to help!
