After going through the apk, I realized most of what I want to change is in
things I
don't know how to edit, just like original FoF. The frets and notes, for
example,
seem to be magical hidden images. Soo, a good way to potentially do theming
support
for this would be to make a ToF similar to FoFiX, where every element in the
theme is
a simple changeable image.

I'm glad you want to do that, and I want to help you :)
Yes, frets are private images, but they don't need to be. Notes are different
matter,
because they are models (very low-poly, I must say). All other data is in fact
very
close to that in FoF (see assets folder and stage.ini).
So, lets do this: after I fix bugs on Droid, I will add option for a program to
use
external assets folder (sdcard/TapsOfFire/assets). I will also make fret image
loadable from there. Then I will add an option to use note image instead of a
model.

Excellent! I'm assuming ToF is programmed in Java, right? I'm going to be
learning Java in school in a
couple months, so I may be able to help out a bit then. Until I learn Java,
though, all I can do is modify
some images to use for the themes. I'll go through tomorrow and start making
some customs and see
how they look in the app. This is going to be EPIC.

Heyy~! This is awesome to know. I'm so glad that TOF will be getting enhanced
graphics.
This issue has my vote! ( Btw: the black and white notes have been fixed on
motorola
milestone ( I also presume it is fixed on droid) Great job!

I think this is not important, especially the default design is already
beautiful!
