The spacing needs to be adjusted though.
I have made the ends of the horizontal bars with right-angled corners as the dollar sign has a vertical bar with right-angled corners. Perhaps the ends could be made rounder as is the case with other currency glyphs.
This is a request to consider adding the Indian rupee sign "₹" (U+20B9) to the fonts.
I have attempted to create a glyph as shown below, but FontForge complains about many errors. This is the first time I have tried to use FontForge.
