Thanks @jasonamey !

Peer Feedback:

It is now time for the peer feedback round for Mini-Project #01. Please review @jasonamey's submission for this mini-project and provide peer feedback.

Using the rubric at https://michael-weylandt.com/STA9750/miniprojects/mini01.html#rubric, please grade their submission out of a total of 50 points.

For each of the five categories, please give them a separate score and provide a total (sum) score across the entire assignment. Feel free to assign extra credit if you feel it is warranted (following the rubric).

If you give a score of less than 5 for any category, please provide a suggestion for improvement. (You can also give suggestions for any element they did well - more feedback is always great!)

As you go through this peer feedback exercise, think about what you particularly like about this submission and how you can incorporate that approach in your future work. If something is particularly insightful or creative, give some kudos!

Evaluators: This should take you around 15 minutes per peer feedback. You are not required to engage in substantial back-and-forth with @jasonamey, but you are of course welcome to initiate a discussion.

@jasonamey: please engage fully with your peers. They are here to help you!

Submission URL should be: https://jasonamey.github.io/STA9750-2024-FALL/mp01.html

Feel free to link to other repos, the course documentation, or other useful examples.

Thanks! @michaelweylandt

Hi @jason, great job in completing the first mini project for our course! I like how detailed you were in crafting the layout of your webpage and including photos to make your report more engaging.

Written Communication: 8.5/10 You did a nice job introducing the topic of our analysis and the data that'll be used. I know it may be a little difficult incorporating the project tasks into the report without explicitly stating "Task #1, Task #2.. etc.". Maybe in future projects, you can try to have the questions build onto each other and explain what these findings might suggest.

Project Skeleton: 10/10

Formatting & Display: 10/10 I noticed you only included columns that readers should find most useful, which makes your tables are nicely made and easy to read.

Code Quality: 10/10

Data Preparation: 10/10

Total Score: 48.5/50

Hi @jasonamey,

I just looked through your project, and here are my comments.

Written Communication: 8/10 The report is clear, but could flow better between sections. More explanation on how findings relate to one another would improve the narrative.

Project Skeleton: 8.5/10 The project is well-organized and covers all required tasks. Some minor elaboration in certain sections could enhance the structure.

Formatting & Display: 10/10

Code Quality: 10/10

Data Preparation: 10/10

Total Score: 46.5/50

Best, Yanting

Hi @jasonamey,

Great job on completing the first mini-project! Your work was well-executed and clearly presented. Here’s my feedback:

Written Communication: 9/10
The introduction and explanations are clear, but key findings could be highlighted better, and transitions between sections would improve the flow.

Project Skeleton: 9/10
You completed all tasks well. However, there was minor redundancy in the case_when() recoding of the mode variable, where the "HR" mode was repeated.

Formatting & Display: 10/10
Tables and visualizations are well-formatted and easy to follow.

Code Quality: 10/10
Your code is clear and well-commented.

Data Preparation: 10/10
You prepared the data excellently, handling missing values and merging datasets correctly.

Total Score: 48/50
Solid work with just a few areas for improvement in writing flow and small code optimizations!

Best,
Ayrat

Hi @jason, Great job on completing the first mini-project for our course! I appreciated the effort you put into making your report detailed and engaging with a clean layout and use of visuals.

Written Communication: 8/10 You introduced the topic well, but the flow between sections could be smoother. Try to link findings together and build a clearer narrative in future projects.

Project Structure: 8.5/10 All required tasks are covered, but adding a bit more explanation in some areas would make the report stronger.

Formatting & Display: 10/10 Your tables are easy to read, and you highlighted the most important details effectively.

Code Quality: 10/10 Clean and efficient code throughout.

Data Preparation: 9.5/10 Great job preparing the data, though a bit more context on decisions made would be helpful.

Total Score: 46/50 Nice work overall!
