Support 64-bit Linux, misc bugfixes #2

Hey @zero2sixd -- thanks for creating this fork! I recently tried to get it working on my 64-bit Ubuntu box. I unfortunately wasn't successful. But I got it much closer -- machines get IP addresses successfully. Sending my code over in case it's of use to you or to anyone else.

As mentioned, I didn't actually get this code to work :-) I think it's good; I think it's a limitation with my kernel. But I'd be really interested to know whether this works in an existing working environment.

[UPDATE] I've been able to test this code by recompiling my kernel (disabled CONFIG_IPDDP); it works fine. Updated the README to reflect the change.
