From the ReadMe:

"the artwork is not scanned/indexed in any way in the database and there is no caching on forked-daapd's side."

Could you please add such an option. I'm running forked-daapd on a Seagate Dockstar (ARM based) with very little RAM and CPU Power. It tooks forever till the covers are fetched by the Remote App on my iPad.

Also I asked myself, what the default size for covers could be, in order to avoid resizing?

The default cover size will depend on the client application. I think you can monitor the client requests via the forked-daapd log, and see what size is being asked for.
