USB file (music) transfer very slow #127

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Transfer music to iphone is extremely slow (compared to a usb stick)
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It's very slow (5-10x slower than expected)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest as of Aug 12, 2009

Please provide any additional information below.
Excellent browser, file transfer is slow making the software somewhat limited.

I have the same problem, so slow compared to Itunes which is blazing fast.  Is 
there 
a way to optimize the connection with Iphonebrowser?

I have the same problem : 
I was trying to copy a 138 MB file from the itouch (2g, 3.0 firmware) to my pc. 

Here are some stats:
touchcopy 09 : 21 secs
iphoneexplorer : 26 secs
iphonebrowser : 160 secs :(
ssh : 110 secs

There is another issue I discovered:

This program tends to crash/timeout when transferring a large amount of files 
or 
several large files (100mb +). This is strange given that this is a USB 
connection 
and shouldn't really timeout at all.

I've resorted to using WinSCP to SSH into my iphone now as this is the only way 
to 
reliably transfer files to my iphone (when there is a large queue), even though 
it's 
obviously slower than USB.

Yes it is very slow.  I've transfered all of my music off the iphone and 
stating I 
have about 2GB worth of music it took about an hour.  One of the folders I 
timed.  
The folder was 229MB.  It took approximatly 3 mins 46 secs.

Is there anyway to speed this up ? Im using Iphone browser v1.9.3.0 to copy 
music to the computer and its taking forever...
