The problem appears to be that Quicktime doesn't install QTOControl.dll into
the
registry. If you check in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID you'll notice
{24BA3CAF-4BE8-4AEC-
A7C8-6F47D5684602} doesn't exist.

I've reinstalled Quicktime plenty of times. If I fake the
{24BA3CAF-4BE8-4AEC-A7C8-
6F47D5684602} key, I get a "is not a Win32 application" error when it tries to
instantiates the COM object.

This is most likely something to do with QTOControl.dll being 32-bit only and
having
trouble with 64-bit Vista.

iTunes doesn't work properly for me as well... I guess this whole thing is not
supporting 64. :(

This doesn't work for me with Vista x64 Ultimate v.6.0.6001 (that is, SP1), I am
up-to-date with Apple software. I really hope that this will work in the near
future.
