There is no /dev/ttyUSB0 or any similar file to access the device in bootloader

I ran into this issue with the HTC Touch Pro.  I had to turn off my data 
connection
before attempting to connect with the phone.

Btw, another user reported success with the diamond.

Device needs to be in bootloader mode.
