Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ChromeVox+O, W brings up Options
Expected: ChroemVox Extension options
Actual: ChromeVox speaks: Chrome Extension, full URL, and new tab".

2. CV+UP or CV+DOWN or TAB and SHIFT+TAB.
Expected: ChromeVox extension options to have various settings, to work with
ChromeVox, allowing for navigation, review, and interaction.
Actual: ChromeVox reads nothing, cannot navigate to anything, and cannot review
anything

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Google Chrome 14 Stable and 16 Canary| Windows 7 x64 and OS XLion

Please provide any additional information below.
Some options that would be great are:
* Keyboard echo
* Sounds: only (no TTS message for identifying element type, EG: link, edit
field, table), off (only TTS message for HTML elements), and both
(default/current)

Confirmed on Canary build of Chrome/Windows 7 x64.
Moreover, when navigating options of ChromeVox w/ normal screenreader, theree's
almost nothing in there. No key echo, no way to select different voice, etc.
Please, make options accessible ChromeVox and beaf the actual options for more
flexibility.

Unfortunately, this is still broken/not working in ChromeVox 1.16.0

Chrome 16.0.912.41 beta
ChromeVox 1.16.0

There really needs to be an option to turn off sounds or TTS announcements for
various info, such as links, buttons, list, tables, etc. Current approach is
very verbose, redundant, and unnecessary.

Brief verbosity option added in 1.18.0 that reads the content of the page
without including as much formatting information. To give it a try, enable
"brief mode" in the Options page, available via ChromeVox+O+W on Chrome OS, or
through the Chrome Extensions page on other platforms. At this time, the
Extensions and Options pages won't be spoken by ChromeVox, so you will need to
use your desktop screen reader to locate and enable the option.
