[Feature Request]: Velicer’s Minimum Average Partial test #1951

Description

Velicer’s MAP test is used for determining the number of components, which focuses on the common variance in a correlation matrix

Purpose

To include along principal component analysis

Factor

Describe the solution you would like

MAP criterion indicates the optimum number of factors that minimizes the MAP value. The procedure extracts the correlations explained by the factors, leaving only minimum correlations unrelated to the factors.

Add me as the third to request this feature. MAP as part of EFA would be useful.

I would like to support the request for this feature and suggest that it can be implemented using the MAP function in the EFA.dimensions package: https://search.r-project.org/CRAN/refmans/EFA.dimensions/html/MAP.html
