@rflidster, sorry for the very late response. Do you mean stuff that is included in the factor module?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I'm thinking of something like the MSCAL function in SPSS or like this in R: http://www.sthda.com/english/articles/31-principal-component-methods-in-r-practical-guide/122-multidimensional-scaling-essentials-algorithms-and-r-code/
Yes, including MDS is a good idea.

This package is particularly useful and contains a very comprehensive set of features:
Leeuw, J. de, & Mair, P. (2009). Multidimensional Scaling Using Majorization: SMACOF in R. Journal of Statistical Software, 31, 1–30. https://doi.org/10.18637/jss.v031.i03 Mair, P., Groenen, P. J. F., & Leeuw, J. de. (2022). More on Multidimensional Scaling and Unfolding in R: Smacof Version 2. Journal of Statistical Software, 102, 1–47. https://doi.org/10.18637/jss.v102.i10
This would be very nice to have.
Ideally, functions would include:
Fit indices such as R^2 and stress, including plots for evaluating fit in different dimensions and evaluating dimensionality of the data
Plots of the resulting data points in 1-, 2-, or 3-dimensional space
Means of rotating the points in 2- or 3-dimensional space
Purpose: Commonly used tool to analyze perceptual data. JASP's existing functions are already very close to doing this.
My sincere thanks for your consideration and time.
