[Feature Request]: Confirmatory Tetrad Analysis #2357

Open Apra119 opened 1 year ago

Apra119 commented 1 year ago

Description

Additional Test in SEM to test causal hypotheses among variables

Purpose

To choose the correct measurement models

Use-case

Confirmatory tetrad analysis in PLS-SEM (CTA-PLS; Gudergan et al., 2008; Hair et al., 2018) allows distinguishing between formative and reflective measurement models

Hi Team, I would like to support this request and point to some literature and an R implementation

This approach is discussed in greater detail in this thesis: https://scholarscompass.vcu.edu/etd/5565/ and an implementation in R is available here (a product of the above thesis): https://github.com/Hangcheng1989/TetradAnalysis/ (not on CRAN) the proposal of the original methodology:

Bollen, K. A., & Ting, K. (2000). A tetrad test for causal indicators. Psychological Methods, 5(1), 3–22. https://doi.org/10.1037/1082-989X.5.1.3 Bollen, K. A., & Ting, K.-F. (1993). Confirmatory Tetrad Analysis. Sociological Methodology, 23, 147–175. https://doi.org/10.2307/271009 Ting, K. (1998). The TETRAD Approach to Model Respecification. Multivariate Behavioral Research, 33(1), 157–154. https://doi.org/10.1207/s15327906mbr3301_7

An approach integrating posterior predictive checks:
