Bayesian principal component analysis (PCA) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) for JASP #801

* Enhancement: Providing Bayesian principal component analysis (PCA) and Bayesian explorative factor analysis (EFA) as first statistical software with GUI * Purpose: Calculating Bayesian PCA and Bayesian EFA * Use-case: Several! **My feature request is simply related the issue that I would love to calculate a Bayesian PCA and a Bayesian EFA. This is the reason why I kindly ask if this will ever be implemented in JASP. I am waiting for a long time. Above all, I am sure this will please many fans of JASP (who are maybe waiting as well) since these procedures have several applications and are especially valuable for smaller sample size studies. When will this be possible? I must calculate a Bayesian PCA very soon.** **Principal component analysis (PCA) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) for JASP!** **I have no alternatives to calculate a Bayesian PCA efficiently and in the best way because JASP is the best statistics software I know.** **It would make JASP even more outstanding against other alternative statistical software because currently none with GUI has it implemented.**

@vankesteren Can you answer this?

EJWagenmakers commented 4 years ago

I can answer it. Yes, these are excellent suggestions and we ought to work on this.

In general, rest assured that if a frequentist analysis does not yet have a Bayesian counterpart, it is something that we wish to fix.

Thank you for your answer. Until this is realized, can you recommend an alternative software/tool which can calculate these three Bayesian procedures?

Of course, my preference is JASP but until the Bayesian procedures are made available I have to consider alternatives (all other Bayesian procedures I have calculated where always available including a really good guidance on them! A great praise to the JASP-team!).

@Golden-Retriever-1. I apologize for the late response. You can use the R-package blavaan
