all app instances from all the workspaces shown #171

I updated ITM recently. Since then it shows me all the app instances from all the workspaces in the bar. Before only the app instances from one workspace where shown. If this is the new standard, could we have an option for the old behaviour?

btw: Ubuntu Mate 16.04.3 lts Cinnamon 3.6.0 ITM 6.0.4

I was just going to comment on this. For me it is only "pinned apps" that show all window counts from all worskpaces in the taskbar. An "unpinned app" appears to only show on the active workspace windows.

I would imagine that some users would want ALL windows from ALL apps showing on the taskbar, and others would want only windows from the current workspace to show on the taskbar (this is how it is now except for the "bug" of showing window counts from pinned apps from other workspaces).

@luke8800gts @rik-shaw makes a good point, the pinned apps have always stayed fixed across workspaces - are you referring to those? Unpinned apps seem to continue to only persist per-workspace.

Just to clarify what I meant: When I switch to a fresh workspace and hover over the pinned Firefox icon, it shows me Firefox instances from all workspaces. This was not the case in the old version I had (I did not update for a long time).

Also if I open a Terminal (not pinned) in one workspace and switch to another there is no Terminal instance shown(as it should). But when I open a new Terminal, it will show me two Terminals (thumbnail and number). If I click on the terminal from the first workspace, it will switch back to the first workspace.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, which old version? If you tell me, I can go back to that commit.

Yes, we'll re-add the bug label for this one. That's not intended behavior. I don't really like workspaces, and don't test them enough. I may have some progress builds for you to test later in the week, if you don't mind.

+1

This is my first time using ITM so I don't know about this behavior on previous versions, but I would like to have this feature (or bugfix). It's something I always used.

In case it helps, GNOME Dash to Panel and Docky have this feature.

Fixed in 6.2.0.
