2 years ago I got the same error and here is my solution:
platform :iOS and use 10.0 instead of 9.0.ios/Podfile
# Uncomment this line to define a global platform for your project

2 years ago Unfortunately you addressed IOS, not MacOS. MacOS doesn't build. But thanks!
I was able to run the example build when I cloned the repository, but if I used the same code in main.darti n a new flutter app, it will not build for MacOS.
Here is my version of flutter and dart: Flutter 2.5.3 • channel stable • https://github.com/flutter/flutter.git Framework • revision 18116933e7 (5 weeks ago) • 2021-10-15 10:46:35 -0700 Engine • revision d3ea636dc5 Tools • Dart 2.14.4
