This is slightly complicated, but I'd like to see at some point.

NetBeans already has this, and so does TextMate.  It might be a bit
complicated, but the ideas are in my head now.

Vote if you'd like to see this in the next version, or comment if you think
it's a waste of time.  

I'd like to hear from you as well if you have ideas or suggestions of how
current abbreviations are handled.
