Fix deprecated gulp-util#8

This fixes the deprecated gulp-util as referenced in #8

I also took the liberty to fix a few other small issues:

• Added a package-lock.json file
• Cleaned up package.json and added myself as contributor
• Added a standard .gitignore template file
• Refactored the code so it's more clean and uses modern syntax
