For the 3rd. Seiran is just one of the names used by Igarashi Iran. Known aliases for her are せいらん, 五十嵐星奈, 蘭々, 鳴海璃玖 and I suspect there might similar thing for the other two you mentioned too. It's very common for JAV actresses to have multiple aliases, they usually change the name when they switch agency/studio they work for.

Oh I see that google search results do have the name Iran. Though I think showing the more common and popular name is the way to go. Since my last post, I have found more examples.

  1. 夏川あゆみ returns Natsukawāyumi. Why is there a French letter? Need to separate first and last name
  2. 彩芽くるみ returns Ayamekurumi. Need to separate first and last name
  3. 三葉ちはる returns Mitsuhachiharu. Need to separate first and last name
  4. 君塚ひなた returns Kimitsukahinata, Need to separate first and last name
  5. 橘メアリー returns Tachibana Meari, Why is it not spelled Mary?
  6. 伊沢涼子 (吉井美希) Her old alias Isawa Ryouko is from before 2014. Should use her more common name Yoshii Miki

"ā" is not a french letter. It represents usually a long vowel so ā should be aa. So it's Natsukawa Ayumi. And yeah, you are right about the name separations.

As for the Isawa Ryouko/Yoshii Miki, Javinizer does have an option that had to do with actress aliases, I think the option was "sort.metadata.nfo.preferactressalias". I can't remember fully what that option does as the documentation doesn't have it explained.

As for the Meari/Mary thing, both are actually used. It would depend on the translator if they wanna just romanize メアリ or do they want to translate it fully. IMDB for example lists 橘メアリ as Meari whilst some other websites lists her as Mary.

Anyway, the problem is with your sources you use, not with Javinizer itself. Or if you use the translator options it might bring issues like these.

If you find romanized names troublesome, you could use sort.metadata.nfo.actresslanguageja to have the names fully in japanese.
