Hi team, nice initiativ! :)

Any plans on the roadmap to use encrypted communication? I could see that it is using http to communicate

Support for native HTTPS would need to come from WiCAN itself, however yes I do have plans to support HTTPS with the integration, as I access my WiCAN via a reverse proxy for HTTPS support.

Was thinking I would detect if it was using the mDNS name or an IP address maintain HTTP, and if not try HTTPS and fall-back to HTTP if needed, so it would primaryly use HTTPS if you did have a reverse proxy set up like I do.

This would be a 1.x feature though, keen to just get the basics working properly to release 1.0 then we can start looking at nice to haves like this

It might be a bit tricky to support http on the current WiCAN hardware.

This won't be an issue on the upcoming WiCAN-PRO
