Still having this issue, but with another installation of wordpress. Anyone
able to tell if it's an issue with my webserver or timthumb?

The same thing is happening on my webhostingpad hosted website.

Looks like it's an issue that's somewhat common. In my hosting error logs, this
is generated over and over: "Cannot allocate memory: couldn't create child
process". There's 1gb of virtual memory, and somehow it's still being maxed out
by timthumb only generating 6 images. Webhostingpad is absolutely no help in
troubleshooting.

I just started see this problem as well. Webhostingpad sucks they just tell me
the same thing over and over that I'm limited by the server although everything
has worked fine for the past 2 years. Did either of you find a solution?

Still haven't. Not sure I have the know-how to debug it either. I'm just hoping
someone comes along with some expertise. I'm a little confused as to how
timthumb+wordpress is using over 1gb of virtual memory for a single page load
(which it is according to webhostingpad).

I too haven't had any luck with their support, they just pointed out the
index.php file in my Wordpress installation. Insulting. Like you, I've had 2(+)
years where everything was working fine. My solution was to stop using
Timthumb, unfortunately. And it's still acting screwy (randomly won't load
pages, uploading images will sometimes abort for no apparent reason, etc.)
