Release v1.8.0 #210

Still waiting on some confirmation on the jazzband side of things before merging this and tagging the commit to generate the PyPI release.

Fixes #208

@jezdez thank you! Just finished processing the releases over on jazzband after confirming the package contents, things are looking good. Now time to keep on maintaining 👍
