Consider removing 'The original and the best' #185

That slogan is an historical legacy from the original author.

Django users have two well maintained alternatives for thumbnails, and with the same template tag names :) So yea we are competing and I like to believe that we are competing with the best intentions :)

I remember proposing in the IRC channel a new one: "The original easy thumbnails for django", /pun intended/

I expected to see a small justification for that claim in the README, a comparison perhaps. Looking at the djangopackages "thumbnail" grid gave me an idea but right now it's not only bold but also confusing.

@jnns I don't think the slogan could be tested. Is an inner joke, I expect that this could be changed in the new release, but this need proposals.

I do not want to remove something that original author probably makes him happy, without some community support :)

And about the feature grid, better support for storage engines, variety of image engines and a sane and more featured templatetag implementation could be more than enough to probe it.

@mariocesar It's been a long time since I filed this ticket. Unfortunately the slogan remains. @jnns points out the statement is confusing on Django Packages and I agree. Having an opinion-based slogan stated as fact on Django Packages is confusing for people trying to do real research.

I don't mean to be a jerk about this, but if the slogan isn't changed in the GitHub description (where Django Packages gets it's data) within 24 hours, I'm going to have to remove sorl-thumbnail from all image related grids, and remove it from the search indexing. Honestly, it's an arrogant, unprovable statement and we simply can't have it showing up on Django Packages.

This doesn't mean you can't have the statement in sorl-thumbnail, just not in the GitHub description.

@pydanny I completly understand, my point is I don't want to change it because I don't know what else to put. I was trying to get a discussion from the community not meant to keep the slogan.

So there is no release yet and few devs are working on the new release. Meanwhile we can put something like "Thumbnails for Django" until the release when I hope the community gives some feedback

I think I was being a jerk. So wow about we change the time limit to a week so we can form a consensus that makes everyone happy. :-)

We have already surrender to your conditions. :) No problem @pydanny the need to change the slogan is real, the 0.12 release will be a hard release and there is so much to test and merge, I see very positive focus on that instead of the slogan.

I'm pretty sure there will be a slogan proposed for the 0.12 release, as all great slogans it will happen when nobody expect it :)
