I'm curious; why revert the 16-channel fix? Does it not fix the issue?

For some reason my reply didn't make it here. I reverted the fix because I realized Jeremy had already fixed it in a different place. I copied the fix I applied from another branch without realizing that Jeremy had already applied his own fix in a different place. I didn't realize that those commits were in the pull request. I'm going to cancel this and make a new one so we don't pollute the repo.
