SMS Backup+ Not Restoring MMS messages #1069

Expected behaviour

I'm trying to restore all SMS/MMS messages. I would expect that when I restored ALL SMS/MMS messages they would all show up in my messaging app (trying both QKSMS and AOSP Messenger)

Actual behaviour

When I restore all messages, only SMS messages are getting restored. All MMS (group messages) are missing.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

Restore ALL messages. This is happening on both Android 10 (Omnirom) and Android 11 (Lineage 18.1). After the restore, open app and see that MMS messages are not present. I get no errors from my Dovecot Imap server. Again, the MMS messages are seen on the Imap server.

Just saw in the FAQ that this app does not restore MMS messages. I'm sorry I thought this was a bug.

MMS hasn't been a priority so far because telcos have generally made them very expensive, so few people use them. I suspect this is about to change, especially with RCS on the horizon.
