Ask Google to implement this feature in Messages? #977

This is first a question for JBerkel to see if s/he has any objections, but perhaps Google could be lobbied to just include this feature in Messages or some other Android app themselves? This is completely not a criticism of JBerkel but I know from working on projects like this that sometimes you lose interest in supporting older projects or have others with higher priority and would not mind someone else taking over.

On the slight chance that Google could get over the typical "not invented here" mentality and recognize the value of this feature for all users would it be OK to suggest this to Google in feedback or other channels? This would seem to be a great way to resolve the security issues.
