Need a way to move plotly charts created in R to website

Options:

• Use plotly.js within app itself

  • least ideal, need to recreate each plot while translating from R to JS
  • Would also need access to data as JSON (whether called from API or stored on app)

• Use Plotly Chart Studio

  • Technically easiest but not a good long-term solution
  • Can save plots made in R to Chart Studio and then embed on app with iframe
  • Limited to 100 public charts and not fully programmatic

• Save as widget and embed file

  • Save chart from R programmatically and embed html file
  • Creates large (3MB+) files to embed, probably not the solution
