Blog support was added upstream in v9.2.0, but it relies on a plugin specific to mkdocs-material.
While there is a popular Sphinx extension called ablog, it is not flagged for parallelized builds and is implemented quite differently compared to upstream.
Opening this to track the feature request and possibly measure community feedback or popular demand. IMHO, rST isn't really blogger friendly but markdown most certainly is.
