How can we ensure that communities of artists, culture-bearers, and people who have been most harmed by our current systems have community ownership?

If possible, we need a search bar. If not possible, do the Ampilfy twitter or IG embed instead.

After "Did you know that cultural workers are co-creating Community Wealth Cooperatives right now?" You can add

"🔎 [ search bar ] " so people can find things!

Duplicating my comment from slack here:

Adding search is gonna take some effort. I think I can accomplish it in a couple days, but it involves adding a build step that indexes your content. It also may incur additional maintenance costs. There are some open source search tools, but most of the solutions Ive seen require a 3rd party service.

It might be worth re-evaluating the site structure if you’re considering search. Typically search will index several pages, and provide an easy way jump between those pages from anywhere on your site.

Art.coop is currently only one page, which means someone could just type CMD+F and find anything on that page. But that’s not a behavior most users are used to. Its atypical to have so much content on one page that it requires search within the page.

Another consideration is SEO. Search engines are good at surfacing web pages based on the page url, headers and images. However when you add too many headers and content under a generic URL, search engines aren’t sure what the page is about. If you want people to find art.coop when searching for terms like “solidarity economy” it makes sense to give those sections their own page, or perhaps create a page to focus on that.
