Exodus shows incorrect away status

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Unclear; user will be working at computer and Exodus will show that they
are away or extended away.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
We see away icon on Exodus when user is working on computer.  Experienced
with many different users.  Exodus icon on user's computer may or may not
show away icon while other users see that they're "away".  

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Exodus 0.10.0.0  Users are all using Windows XP.  
To what server (if public like jabber.org) are you connecting?

Openfire 3.4.3 on Server 2003.

What plugins, if any, are enabled?
Broadcast 
Presence service
Search
Subscription
User Import/Export

btw, you should list Exodus plugins, not the server's.
