Just a small suggestion - you might want to consider adding support for
XEP-0144: Roster Item Exchange, specifically for adding gateway/transport
contacts.
We "now" have ICQ & Facebook transports on Jabbim (jabbim.com, jabber.cz,
njs.netlab.cz etc.) which support this extension. You have to register an
account with Jabbim to be able to use those transports.

Although documentation and some bits such as DB schemas are missing and the
project has not been finished yet, so you might not be able to install it
youself.
