Change (ITIL-based): don't automatically add impacted CIs (on insert/update) #3
I think this behavior changed at some point in iTop.
While the impact analysis tab is great, it's annoying that iTop now adds those impacted CIs to the Change's related CIs.
An example: recently I had to add a couple of lines to our firewall configuration. iTop added 600+ items which might be impacted on creating/updating the ticket. However, it was only to open a port. With all those computed CIs added, it makes it more difficult to see what the change was really about.
The only upside to iTop's approach is that you could spot a potential breaking change from any of those impacted CIs. But in a lot of situations, it might be better to manually add them.
