The material in III-7 to 9 is (mostly) covered in a basic stats course. Maybe this could be made more concise. Would be great to have a lecture on the idea of shrinkage/regularization, and the bias/variance tradeoff. Discuss ridge regression, lasso etc. Would make a smooth transition with the machine learning lecture.
