Hey @jbuchermn. It's been a while :) I had two very stressful months and I got no time to work on the scratchpad. But now I'm able to continue on this. But one other thing:
I updated my newm recently and now the panels are crashing everytime. I can't figure out why and I also updated my config to match with yours.
Here is the log from the crash:
