With your current implementation, ratings are saved in a separate file. Are
you planning to support the saving of ratings to the id3 tags as well?

Definitely seconded. That way I could use the Squeezebox to get the rating 
done, and
when transcoding the FLAC files to mp3 copies for iTunes, the rating would 
"follow".
