Enhancement: Suppress optionally "video return" for users to preserve bandwidth #473

Which version of OpenMeetings are you running? 0.5.1

What's your operating system on client and server side? Debian Edge

First, many thanks for that great job. We are really impressed. As we are
currently testing openmeeting with our users the following feature request
is often coming out :
Is there a way to optionally suppress video windows for himself ? People do
not like to see themselves and it could be useful to preserve bandwidth.

if you do not want to share your video you can select in the device-selection
box,
audio only or static image.

Of course others will not see you if you do not share your cam. But if you
share it
it does make no difference in bandwidth needs if you show the cam or if you
don't.
Meaning the video of yourself is no remote video, its just the input directly
from
the cam. You can also stream the video without showing the cam but makes no
difference from bandwidth point of view.

Ok, thanks for these precisions regarding bandwidth and architecture. I know
that it
could sound strange, but our users don’t like to see themselves. So if there
is a
possibility to stream the video without showing the cam, it's great.
Thanks again.
