Cook time: 30 hr Prep time: 15 min
Serves: 2 servings

Ingredients:

Sauce/Glaze

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven at 200c (390f). Wash the cauliflower and chop in small bouquets.
  2. Start to make the batter: Mix buckwheat flour, soy cream, paprika and a gently amount of salt and pepper (the dough needs to be thick). Add the cauliflower bouquets in the mixing and on a baking tray with baking paper. The bouquets needs to be in a thick layer. Cook in the oven in 15 min.
  3. In the meantime make the soy sauce/glaze. Start by mixing corn starch with water. Mix well and add maple syrup, lime juice, ketchup, soy sauce, oil and barbecue spice. Set aside.
  4. Take out the cooked hot wings from the oven and add directly on a pan. Add the soy sauce/glaze on top and cook in 4-5 minutes. Mix well until golden and warm. Drizzle with sesame seeds and serve warm with rice, nudel salat – or just plain.

My best recipe for cauliflower hot wings. Vegan buffalo recipe made with barbecue, soy sauce / glaze. Eat with rice, salads or just enjoy plain.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Carefully cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, the plant-based milk, the water, the garlic power, the paprika powder, the salt, and the black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Dip the florets into the batter, so they’re completely coated.
  4. Roll them in the panko breadcrumbs. Omit this step for a gluten-free version. However, they’re way crispier with the panko breadcrumb coating.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the cauliflower florets on the baking sheet. Don’t put them on top of each other. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 °F.
  6. Transfer the cooked cauliflower wings to a bowl.
  7. Combine the BBQ sauce with a teaspoon sriracha sauce and pour it over the baked cauliflower wings. Evenly coat them from all sides by stirring them a few times.
  8. Put the coated hot wings back on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake again for 20 minutes at 350 °F.
  10. Serve immediately and sprinkle with the green onions and serve with vegan aioli or vegan ranch sauce. Enjoy!
