Automatically turn the washing machine plug on/off ⚡🔌 #212

In the UK we've had a period where some domestic appliances suffered from an electrical fault and units such as washing machines and dryers caught fire when they were not in use.

My appliances are connected with smart plugs so I created an automation that turns off the appliance when it is not in use and is able to detect when it is about to be used and turns the plug on so the appliance can be used. Thus also means no idle power is wasted and safeguards against the issue we've seen in the UK where

I use the contact sensor on the washing machine door to detect when it is opened and closed as well as the tamper or vibration sensor to understand if the appliance is in use.
