Still really unclear how the code should work - we should arrange a Skype chat and work out a better design. Currently, the seeming dependence on the notebook is a key problem.

broken the functions into different modules depending on if they want to deal with downloading and parsing data from Blitzorg, or if they want to do mapping/stats with the data. bbce8b2 and 0b7b2e84
