So as the titles says, do you think their is a risk of getting banned by using this bot for >5 items? I believe bots have been around a long time, but never heard of anyone getting banned from it.

Just wanted to know how you think of it

I have had multiple instances of the bot running with 15-30 skins each for a couple of weeks now and the worst i have got is a rate limit that i can get around with an ip change. I am almost certain that if Steam took a look at my account they would know that I am using a bot and most certainly ban me however steam simply does not care enough to look. If you got caught up in a separate matter and got your account looked at closer it might be bad so i recommend using multiple accounts.

Oh really, yeah if youre running multiple instances its probably at bigger risk. Imo the extreme instances that is at risk to get banned. I'll probably run the bot when the market has a lot of market transactions and I could profit from it. Then the risk should be minimal

im not too worried about getting banned, as soon as my week timer is up on my alt accounts i will be able to "spread out the load" of the multiple instances to multiple accounts. In the end I dont think that steam cares much about this kind of thing or actively bans people for it because they have much bigger issues to be dealing with but in the end there is still a chance so it is best to keep as little money at risk as possible and not keep your profits stacked on one account.

I think you are right, the risk isnt that big at the scale. I think having multiple accounts is too much of a hassle for me, also risk more accounts. But I guess they might end up banning all my accounts if I break the tos on one of my accounts(?)

it depends, if you set up multiple accounts to not be connected to each other like separate email/phone then there is no way steam can "chain ban" them all at the same time with no proof that the same person owns all of them. I think there is a greater risk for the more IP's you have running on the same account. For example, if one account is running with one IP there is no way they cant prove it isnt just someone refreshing and buying stuff but the more IP's you use per account the higher the risk is. I am trying to not go much higher than 2-4 separate IP's per account because that is something that a normal person using a VPN might do however once you scale it up more than that I believe that there might be more risk however I'm still not to worried as this is very small scale in the grand scheme of things.

Okay, yeah thanks for the insight. I'll probably try my network first (both for speed and safety) and adjust the timeouts. But I guess they cant tell if its actually a bot or a person thats refreshing and buying at this scale. Would be different, as you say, if more ips and different accounts linked etc. Unfortunately me accounts are linked to my phone number, which makes me wanna take as low of a risk as possible to use the bot
