deck advisor will not load #31

i downloaded the 64 bit program and when i go to run it, it stops halfway through the deck archetype ! I have completed all the steps for it to run with arena and it still does not run. its like it locks up halfway through the setup of the deck archetypes. Can any one help me with this?

Not sure...I haven't had another user with issues like you're having. :)

yeah, leave it to me. It always seems murphy's law keeps catching up with me. lol you never answered about the internet explorer thing either. i can't even get windows updates any more. when i click on it it shows up all the bars white and blank. But my ptcgo works fine and so does arena. Plus opera and chrome works fine too. I was just trying to figure out if it might be tied in with it somehow?

also if i download something, a picture or anything. i have to restart my laptop to be able to download again. any ideas?

DADA is not tied into Internet Explorer, but it does sound like you might have some issue on your system that could be affecting both.

I keep trying to figure the issue out but i guess i am not smart enough.. Too bad you could not remotely link to my laptop and see what the issue is first hand. I am sorry to have wasted your afternoon.

:) If I could remote link that would be nice...your error looks so much like a fairly common one I used to see that I feel like 80% sure that changing the setting in the DailyArenaDeckAdvisor.exe.config file should file it.

it was the lastcode at 3:43 pm. not the exception code the other one. but it is gone now I deleted the logs in case we might have tried again, but I got scared there.

Yeah, you shouldn't need to copy/paste the text from the log files at all, you should be able to attach the actual log files into the github issues page by dragging them onto the window like this:

Don't beat yourself up too much. I'm around programmers all day, so sometimes I forget that I need to give more easy-to-follow instructions for most people. :)

yeah, i am 59 and kind of old school. I'm ,lucky to know what i know. lol thats why i was trying to pick your brain there. Any ideas on how i can get my I.e. to update itself without it working.? i have been trying off and on to fix this problem.

Wahoo! Yes. It worked twice now so far. i had to re start because I downloaded once. so i got to do it twice. Now, how about a instruction manual for us old geezers who like to read?? and thank you so much

No, it shouldn't take 10 minutes to load, but I think that's related to whatever network issue is going on on your machine (I added code to make the network timeouts WAAAAAYYY longer, so now you're not getting timeout errors, but it's taking a long time to load). The code in DADA uses the same libraries under the hood that IE does for network stuff, so like I said there could be some issue on your machine affecting them both.

I'm going to close this issue, since we at least got it working for you, but feel free to add more comments if you need something.
