Now that the homepage is finished what is left?

I was also wondering how we submit this project, is it individual or just one of us submits it.

and lastly is our final test tomorrow?

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Did you verify the html code through the validator? We submit it by one of us uploading to their website.

I'm going to use this template for my meta site:http://www.opendesigns.org/design/business-zonne/ Do you know how to make this bending page effect? I'm going to take a screenshot of your UI and bend the page.

Yes, final exam tomorrow.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

I just validated and passed all html code

let me know the dimensions of the image and ill make it quickly

alright thanks for clearing that up for me

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Yes, I need something that is 1000 wide and say 600 height that I can resize. Any part of the style of your page like the nav and top part of some content with some menu selection. thanks!

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Also test your code on 3 browsers. Maybe make sure you have the IE shiv and gulp see if it runs on IE. Thanks!

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

I added the picture to the design folder, hopefully its okay. I added the shiv, not sure if its working i dont have an old ie browser lol. what is gulp?

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

gulp is my nervousness if any of this works with IE. I'm stuck when I include style sheets from 2 different templates. My menu become invisible unless hover over it. Is there an easy way to separate this issue? I guess I have to change one of the style.css?

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

oh ahah, i thought you were referring to a program. Its working in firefox, chrome and IE (My version at least). The only notable difference between browsers is a 1px difference separating the drop down menus from the nav (only seems to occur in firefox). My guess would be there is some conflicting css, you could try inspecting the element with your developer tools.

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I have problems with the sitemap: The menu disappeared. https://github.com/jchan555s/COMP-1950-Final-Project-Unity1/tree/master/code/jason-work/metasite2/sitemap

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Sorry, I don't see the titlepage you added.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

the homepage? the link is in the footer

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

no, the image for my introduction page to the metasite. The photoshopped page.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

oh sorry its in the design folder

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

cool, see it night.

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I think I will just take a screenshot of my sitemap and stick it on as a jpg.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

sounds good, whatever gets the job done!

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

oh yeah, check for SEO in your code. thanks!

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

Okay I've added better SEO across all my pages and have organized the style.css

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Great! I guess you are done. I have about an hour to add SEO to my pages and also I guess I have to do media queries.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

why do you have to add media queries?

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I hope I don't. The way I read it, it seems like I should. But maybe I'll assume he meant just the proto-site. (see item 6 which is under the Metasite heading http://bcitcomp.ca/comp1950/lectures/eleven/ and not the proto-site subheading.)

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

Well as it stands I would say your meta site handles well in both laptop and desktop screens

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

It's true. I chose a narrow template! :)

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Can you tell me any CSS 3 you used and which sections? probably the rounded corner buttons.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

I used :

opacity - on in the timer on the quiz page border-radius - buttons etc. overflow-x overflow-y box-sizing - was used in the menu style.css for the nav

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

got it. putting it down in the rationale. thanks.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

okay awesome

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I just uploaded the latest metasite. I'm reviewing the text. Hopefully done in another 20 mins.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

How is it coming along? Are you uploading it too?

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I got some mismatched divs on the rationale and sitemap page. Other than that, I will be done. ANother 10mins.

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Done the validation. Uploaded to: http://bcitcomp.ca/students/jchan90/finalproject/metasite/introduction.html You can upload it to your server too. Let me know when you sign off and I will email Jeff and CC you.

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I'll be checking my email after 10pm.

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

I'll send Jeff the email now. The link won't change.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

Awesome thanks a lot Jason! Its been good working with you, and unfortunate Calvin was so unpredictable. I've uploaded it to my webspace as well and I will also email Jeff.

SeanJStudio commented 10 years ago

Oh I was cc'd in the email that works aha I guess I wont send him an extra one then. Good luck tomorrow on the exam!

jchan555s commented 10 years ago

Great! It was really really great to work with you as well Sean! I appreciated your help and also staying with me until it was complete. Hope to work with you again and I can help you with some javascript and which would be a good practice for me while I wait for the next semester. Good luck on your finals!! For my protection, I will need to sit at another seat tomorrow.
