The lack of a recent pypi release is making people think this great package is unmaintained (https://github.com/pydata/xarray/issues/1914#issuecomment-1841992636).

Mind making a release?

As an aside, this is fairly easy to automate today.

Hi @dcherian, yes I'll try and do that soon. I think I have the automated steps in place now but was waiting on new docs to catch up with new features etc. and it fell down the to-do list.
